Over 180 of the world’s best para skiers from over 20 different countries have steadily been arriving in Prince George throughout the week for the Para Biathlon World Championships and the Para Nordic World Cup Finals, both being held at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club.
Diversified Transportation is supporting the Biathlon event with a major sponsorship, and have 5 to 6 drivers and three buses running all day, every day from March 4-18. DTL BC has also been busy picking up all the athletes from the airport and taking them to training for the last five days, and yesterday they held their first race day!
As part of the sponsorship, DTL BC has been broadcasting a video at the venue to promote our connection to the community and let everyone know we are a great place to work! Click the video below to check it out.
Throughout the Para Biathlon World Championship, athletes will be using a variety of accessibility tools to showcase their talents. For example, para-athletes with visual impairments will use rifles with laser sights as well as sounds that indicate accuracy. Other athletes will use modified skis or poles in their races.
The Para Biathlon World Championship will close out on Sunday, March 10th.
